Ranger Matt Commons, KIA
3/4/02, Operation Anaconda, Battle of Takur Ghar,
Afghanistan.
Matt, it's almost five
years now. The pain is not so acute anymore,
but I miss you intensely. I still think of you
many times a day and pray for you and to you
always. You are my angel and have been a good
Ranger in the Sky to your Ranger Buddies. I
long for the day when when we can be together.
You are now in the presence of our Ultimate
Commander. May you continue guiding our
soldiers. Matt, you lived by the Ranger Creed
and you believed every word. I love you and
miss you always.
Love Mom
RLTW!

1SG Christopher Coffin died three years ago on 1
July 2003 returning from a supply run to
Baghdad. The Soldiers who served under him will
never forget the price he paid in order to take
care of us. As he said, "A good Soldier knows
his duties, many folks don't know what duty is,
it's like asking a blind guy what the color blue
looks like."
Respectfully,
JOHN E. STEFULA
MAJ, CA
